Meet the Begin Family
Begin Family Farm is owned and operated by Jeff Begin and his family. We are a family of four living in Hollis, NH, where we've been farming since 2013.
Jeff spent nearly 20 years as a software engineer before making the leap to full-time farming. It's a transition that might seem unusual, but for Jeff, it was a return to his roots.
Prince Edward Island Roots
Jeff grew up on Prince Edward Island, Canada, surrounded by agriculture. His family has deep farming roots on PEI, and the connection to the land never left him. After years in the tech industry, Jeff and his family decided to pursue the dream of running their own farm.
In 2013, the Begin family put down roots in Hollis, NH, and began building what would become Begin Family Farm. What started as a small operation has grown into a thriving CSA that serves families across southern New Hampshire.
Our Mission
We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious, locally-grown food. Our mission is simple: grow the best produce we can using sustainable, organic practices, and make it accessible to our community.
We take pride in knowing every family that joins our CSA. When you become a member, you're not just buying vegetables — you're joining a community of people who care about where their food comes from and how it's grown.
Why Pack-Your-Own?
Our pack-your-own model is unique. Instead of receiving a pre-packed box of produce (which might include items your family won't eat), our CSA members visit the farm and choose exactly what they want. You pick what you love, in the quantities that work for your family.
It's also a wonderful experience. Many of our families come to the farm with their kids, making it a weekly tradition of connecting with where food comes from. There's nothing quite like pulling a carrot out of the ground or picking a sun-warm tomato right off the vine.
